What I am NOT!

Have you ever been told what you should be or who you are. Have you tried your life to be something and that’s now WHO you are. As you grow up you have these ideas of what you want to be when you are an adult. I am a doctor. I am a lawyer, I am a ballerina, I am a teacher. I am a chef. I am a plumber. These are the things you looked forward to saying. Now as an adult you may be those things but more than likely what you said you wanted to be as a child isn’t what you are now as an adult. All the way up until 8th grade I wanted to be a marine biologist. Then I did my first animal dissection and realized that wasn’t for me. I will stick to loving dolphins and swimming. Then in high school I wanted to be an esthetician. I was learning all sorts of ways to take care of the face and massage. Graduation I was ready to pursue it but money and a bad relationship  derailed that.

A couple years later I became a mommy and no longer was working. Nutrition became my focus since that was something I could afford at the time and interested me. Online courses to get my Nutritionist Certification. Yay now I’m certified but my husband begged me to stay home and raise our son, Bubby. I wanted to be that mommy so back burner went my certification. (I don’t regret raising him those years at all) It wasn’t until 5 years later that my son was in school and my husband didn’t really have a say in me getting a job as long as I was home for Bubby. My certification was out dated and so was I. I got an office job and kept telling myself I would get to it. I would just keep my eyes open for something in my preferred field.

Now 12 years later I am not an Esthetician. I am not a Nutritionist. People ask what are you all the time and that question is a pain. I am a mommy, a friend, a sister, a daughter, an other half and a bunch of other “labels”. It doesn’t matter really to anyone what I am or what you are in the big picture of life. To me what matters is what you aren’t. Life changes you and you change course and you can choose to go that way or not. Who and what I was is behind me. I do not look back because then I can’t see where I am going.

Infusion time

So its that time again were I have to get my Rituxin. I go every 4 months 2x 2weeks apart. This is something I have to do to keep my life manageable. It is a pain literally. It takes 4 hours and I feel drained light=headed and nauseous after, but again it makes me feel better in about 2-3 weeks from the first of the 2 infusions. I am trying to stay active and exercise daily and eat as healthy as I can. I have a cheat eat day on Fridays and a cheat lazy day on Saturdays. Those are days I always look forward to. Lately I have been slacking on my workouts with my man because I hurt and ache and crack and pop too much. 10 min of half assed-working out is all I can do. But I do it! I do it because if I don’t I can feel myself curling into myself and tensing up and I know that will make it so much harder to feel good again. Trust me when I say I don’t like hurting. So for now I wait for the meds to get into my system and start myself up like a lawn mower. I pull and pull and hope the motor gets going and mow down anything that tries to get in my way.

Since I have Rheumatoid arthritis I have to take meds that cause me to have adult acne. It totally sucks. It is mostly on my cheeks but it does show up on nose, chin and forehead too. I have been using everything I could and the only thing that came close to working was my own recipe of natural products but still I wasn’t like YES!! Radha Clearing Serum was sent to me and I didn’t expect much. I have tried a few of their other products and I love love them so why not, right? The Serum containsSalicylic Acid 2%, Niacinamide 3.5%, Tea Tree Oil, Retinol 2.5%, Vitamin C Serum 20%, Hyaluronic Acid and Rosehip. So not too shabby. 1st night on my skin was a little rosy in the morning but it didn’t hurt or burn. 3 days in and they texture was beginning to be smoother. 5 days and it was such an improvement that I decided to let my teenager try it. One pump is more than enough for a whole face. Bonus it has a lovely scent.

Weekly Wiggle Wit

I still got some wiggle in me. I just remember dance, dance, dance, dance, rest to rehydrate then dance, dance, dance go home hung over sleep all day. I have neuropathy probably do to my Lupus and RA which has caused a drop in my B’s. I hae taken all sorts of vitamin forms under tongue, chewable, “easy” to swallow. I haven’t noticed much difference. I was nervous trying a serum/cream type as my skin can be temperamental at times.  This was non irritating and smelled nice. I liked the texture on my skin too. I like the pump design and it was easy to use. It is a really nice alternative to pills which I take enough of. The bonus is the natural ingredients. Plus it claims to be safe for kids 12 and up. Even they get sluggish.

I have been lactose intolerant for as long as I can remember. ReBoot Refresh and ReNew

After the month I have had trying to get back into the groove of things again after my infusion I have majorly slacked on my blog. (little reminder RA totally SUCKS!!)
