We all love coloring with crayons as a kid and even as an adult its fun. Crayons are all over the house and in drawers and craft boxes. My son is a teenager now and yes we still have crayons on hand. You just never know when creativity will strike.
We have some crayons stashed away in a few spots specifically for emergencies. No not for coloring but for light. If a natural disaster happens and the electricity goes out candles are an instant source of light and sometimes heat. You try to have as many candles on hand as possible. Crayons are great for make-shift emergency candles. Set the crayon in something that will keep it standing up like a bowl of salt or sand or dirt and light the tip of the crayon until it melts to the paper. It will burn for around 30 mins. Pretty great for a quick cheap candle. I have a box in my bug out bag and in the kitchen.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL
Christmas Ornament Hack Pt. 2
So I hope everyone is enjoying what ever holidays you celebrate and having some fun. I am heading to my mom’s for the day of food and gifts.
Last week I posted about how I use extra ornaments in my decorations. Here is the 2nd way I did it. I usually just hang the snowflake on there but had a few extra bulbs and these random bits of ribbon laying around. I thought about hanging them on the walls but that seemed weird so here is the final decision.
Let me know what you think of this last Christmas hack.
Hope you have a great holiday and MERRY WIGGLING!!!!
Christmas Ornament Hack
So you decorated your tree and have a bunch of leftover bulb ornament sitting around. In the box and stored away they go? Well I have a few ideas on what to do with leftover ornaments.
My 1st idea is so simple. Fill everything that I can with them. I have some glass shaped candle holders that I filled with the small ones.I have wine glasses on my counter and on my dinner table that I just filled with medium ornaments. I also have a cake stand that I filled the cover with the larger ones then flip it onto the stand. I then just scattered the rest of the medium ones on serving trays that I have in my fireplace as accent pieces.
This is a simple and inexpensive way to add little touches of décor and Christmas sparkle. You cold color coordinate them to any style or color scheme you have in your decorations. By all blue or silver or red and place them in anything you can imagine. The styles of ornaments are so versatile and fit just about any idea you may have.
Let me know what other ideas you may have for leftover ornaments.
I have one more idea that I am working on but its not done yet. Pics coming soon.
Shoes are all over. They get thrown on top of each other, against the wall, in the middle of the floor even behind the door. Seriously you come in the house and shut the door then take your shoes off in front of it. So when anyone else comes home bang there are your shoes in the way and you can’t open the door. Or even better you can open the door and expect it to open all the way and boing the door bounces back at you and hits you. Yes these all happen at my house.
So pegs to the rescue? YES! A simple coat peg strip from my usual store and all the shoes on the floor equals clear floors. Hang the coat peg about a foot of so up from the floor and viola instant shoe rack. The shoes are up and out of the way and no bulky shoe rack on the floor or in the way. Place a second one about a foot higher and you got yourself a 2 tier rack. Pictures of mine coming soon!!
Wednesday Wiggle Review with bonus HACK
I love using activated charcoal, This brand has worked great for me so far. Here is some hacks and ideas for using this AMAZING product
1. first for brushing my teeth. My son and I have been dipping of toothbrush that we use just for this into a little sealed container. We then brush like normal. Yes your teeth turn black but even though it stains it doesn’t stain teeth or skin. Weird, right?
2. I use it with a little distilled water and coconut oil and spread it on my face. I let it dry then was off with a wash cloth that I only use for this. My skin is so clean. It detoxes your mouth and impurities in your skin.
3. And as of today I put some into my house and car 1st aid kit. This is what hospitals sometimes use for poison that has been ingested. It takes just a little and any bad stuff in your body is being detoxed right out.
The uses go on from there so I have a few more ideas to try still.
** I received this product at a discount to try in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
I give it
Thanks for reading my review today.
If you’ve tried this before let me know what you think.

I write a lot and I have pens all over the place. In my kitchen, office, living room and even my bathroom. You never know where inspiration will hit, right?
I saw this hack and thought well duh! I had 2 drawers in my old house that had utensil holders. One for silverware and one for other utensils. The one was too big to fit in the drawer by the stove so I had to put it across the kitchen. Since it was too far to use as a utensil drawer I just started using it for my candle lighter, scissors, pens, markers and random kitchen tools. I was doing this and didn’t even realize it was a hack. It just kind happened. Well now I realized you can use them for so much more. The possibilities are endless.
- for a party to store ingredients for sundae making
- Store your emergency candles in them
- organize your sewing supplies
- store all your screws and nails and hammer
- line up your tea bags for easy access
- make your own coffee pod holder
- 1st Aid supplies
- Lipsticks and mascaras etc
- kids bagged snacks out of the box
- candy dish
Some of these ideas are mine some are ones I found, What are some of yours? I would love to know how many other ways can be thought up for using a utensil tray!! Go crazy or practical but go get one.
I always try to make my life and those around me as easy and effortless as possible. Now that I have Ra in my hands I can’t do all the things I took for granted before. So I decided to share with you wonderful wiggling love bugs some of the tricks I have actually used and some that I have on my to do list to give a try/ I would love to know what you think about them and if you have tried them. Every week I will post at least one Hack or How To that I have come across.
Here is the first one. Let give it a try eh?
Since it has been summer we have been eating these yummy pineapple cherry frozen bars. They are on a popsicle stick and they melt faster than I can eat them. Some people will use the wrapper they come in but that makes more of a mess in some cases. Then there is the make your own popsicle! They just don’t have their own wrappers. So how about this cute trick use muffin liners as sticky drippy catchers. You just stick the stick in the meddle of the liner and hold the stick as usual. They might still drip a little in the hole you create but that is just not as bad as not having it in my eyes. What do you think? brilliant right? Well it’s not my “original idea” but I still love it.
About a year ago I decided to try my hands at some homemade natural products. My first one was a laundry detergent. It is the powder kind. I made my first batch in January 2014 and I am finally ready to make a new batch of laundry detergent. For my family it works great our clothes come out clean and I have my own softener crystals I make to help with smells and softening clothes. I am not quite out of that yet but I will give a DIY on those soon. It cost me about $12 for all the supplies and I haven’t bought any detergent in over a year. Now this is for 2 people with about 4-5 loads a week. Why so many you may ask- well we like to wash all towels and sheets every week in this house.
It is really simple and you can get all the ingredients from your local Walmart or Target.
1 box – Borax $8 – boosts cleaning power and gets rid of odors
1 box – Washing Soda $3 – powerful cleaner and busts through grease and stains
2 cups – Baking Soda $1 inexpensive way to boost detergent and bleach performance, soften clothes
Mix them all together and put into a container or jar with an old coffee scoop or table spoon measuring spoon.
Makes about 18-19 cups worth
Wash, Rinse, Repeat as needed! That’s it. I only need to use 2T for a full load of laundry but depending on how dirty the clothes are up to 1/4 cup.
Savings in my opinion are about $100+ per year! What do you have to lose (besides dirt)?

When I was a kid there were 3 rules at the dinner table. 1) NO elbows on the table. This was a BIG deal to my dad. If you didn’t wanted your elbow to get up close and personal with his fork then you didn’t put them up there. 2) Eat all the food on your plate. You know cause there are starving kids in Africa. I once made the mistake of saying-well they can have all my roast and okra and brussel sprouts then. That didn’t go as well as I had hoped. I have since learned to like brussel sprouts but okra…blech 3) No getting up until you got permission and you didn’t get permission until rule #2 was followed. Catch 22 there, ya.
My house doesn’t really follow those rules. All the food gets eaten since I have always had garbage disposal guys around and dinner is more of a hang out. Now that I am all Growed up I wanted to have a little more panache.
My mom’s dining room table is always set. Its like she is expecting at any moment 6 people to show up and have a formal dinner with her. It’s a gigantic, eye-catching, themed house decoration. It always looks nice however. I don’t have a formal dining room table anymore. We use our dining room as a family room and my son and I do eat dinner together 5 days a week. We opt for the living room while watching one of our favorite shows together on Hulu. Right now its Gotham and Flash. I do have this tall bar like table in a little eating nook in my kitchen. I decided to set it with 3 settings and a centerpiece. I am by No means fancy or formal so a nice semi-formal table would do us just fine. So I set out to learn a good way to do it. Could I asked my mom? Yes. I just want to do it a little more Shiy like. My simple casual formal table.
What I used,
Dinner and Salad Forks
Soup and Dessert Spoons
Place mat and Napkin
I put it all together and Viola!
For me its quaint and simple yet still festive and lovely.
Yes this one is my mom’s and it looks amazing, but for my son and me ours just works.
